We are a team of dedicated professionals specializing in nurse-led medical foot care. Our mission is to provide education and hands-on training to healthcare professionals in the specialized field of nursing foot care. With years of experience and expertise, we are committed to providing a quality course that empowers nurses to excel in their practice. We understand the importance of continuous education and staying updated with the latest advancements in medical foot care. This course was designed to equip nurses with the knowledge and skills required to provide exceptional foot care to their community. About the Course

This collaborative course has been designed to assist healthcare providers in increasing their knowledge, skills, and abilities in the nursing specialty area of foot care. You will gain a comprehensive understanding of the various medical conditions that affect the feet and lower limbs, how to treat them appropriately within your scope of practice, and most importantly, how to educate others on the importance of foot health. Continued education to maintain competencies as per the nursing regulatory body, is the sole responsibility of the individual and is highly encouraged. Upon completion of both theory and clinical practicum, a certificate of competition will be provided.

The Advanced Nursing Foot Care Course is complete with Theory Curriculum Material (110 hours) as per the National Competencies for Advanced Foot Care Nursing, including IPAC Position Statement & Guidelines. As well as a private one-on-one clinical practicum of three (3) full days in a variety of settings.

Theory

Theory coverage includes, but is not limited to:

  • anatomy & biomechanics of the lower limb & foot

  • conditions of the foot & nail

  • infection prevention & control

  • diabetic foot care & management

  • assessment, terminology & skill

Theory is completed on an online platform with quizzes made up of multiple-choice, matching, fill-in-the-blank and short answer questions that pertain to the material and related websites provided throughout the course.

Art & Scient of Foot Care: A Clinical Resource for Nurses in Canada

Clinical

Clinical is completed in London Ontario, 3 full days of hands-on, private guided practical experience, enhancing your knowledge, skills, and abilities. As a student, you will perform thorough assessment and documentation, patient care, evaluation, patient health teaching, and follow IPAC guidelines and competency guidelines. Skills practice is guided and performed one-on-one in settings that may include: private professional clinic, community setting and private homes.

Attendance is 100% mandatory. Scheduling clinical can be agreed upon in advance to accommodate, however, due to the nature of scheduling, once set, if you are unable to attend, with less than 30 days notice, re-scheduling fees will apply.**

Availability is limited; clinical is one-on-one and not in a group environment. Clinical dates are scheduled at the discretion of the educator and collaboration with the student.**

  • Advanced Nursing Foot Care Theory - $1200+tax* (payable to Julia Lewis Foot Care)

  • Advanced Nursing Foot Care Clinical- $3000+tax* (payable in advance to Forest City Foot Care Ltd.)

    • Clinical includes a basic starter kit
